Letter W Craft

W is for Watermelon in this fun kids alphabet activity. As you create this project be sure to talk about the letter W, what sound it makes, what words start with W and also talk about watermelon! What does it taste like? When do you usually eat it? How does it grow?

This activity pairs well with our melon ball punch recipe for a refreshing drink while you craft!

In this weekly letter activities series, I hope you find fun and easy ideas to help your preschooler (or kindergartener) with letter recognition. These activities are designed to help reinforce each letter with a fun craft that your child can do on their own (with a little help from an adult).

  • Craft Foam (like this)
  • Glue (can use hot glue or white school glue)
  • Scissors
  • Black Marker
  • Paper or Cardstock

W is for Watermelon Letter Craft Directions

1.) After gathering all of the supplies, you will first download the letter W template and print onto paper or cardstock.

2.) Cut out the letter W and trace onto the craft foam. Cut the letter out.

3.) Download and print the watermelon template. Cut out.

 

4.) Trace the watermelon template onto white, green and red craft foam. Cut out.

5.) Glue the pieces of the watermelon together.

 

6.) Use a black marker to add seeds to the watermelon.

7.) Glue the watermelon onto the letter W.
