These Easter M&M’s® Cookie Bars are quick and easy to make and they are the perfect take along dessert idea for Easter! I make them for just about every occasion using the various M&M’s® holiday colored candies. They taste absolutely amazing and if the pan lasts more than a day in your house then you’ve got me beat!
You’ll start by mixing together melted butter and brown sugar.
Then add in an egg and vanilla and blend well. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Now it’s time to add in your M&M’s® Pastel! Measure out one cup of the Easter colored candies.
I bought my M&M’s® Pastel colored candies at Sam’s Club. I found a big display near the bakery and dairy section. I grabbed a bag of M&M’s® Pastel and MARS Spring Minis Mix.
Add one cup of M&M’s® Pastel into the batter and mix with a spatula.
Then spread the batter into a greased 9″ x 9″ pan. I greased mine with cooking spray. Then add 1/3 cup M&M’s® Pastel onto the top of the batter in the pan. Then bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes until set in the middle.
While they are baking you have plenty of time to whip up these adorable mini Easter baskets! Would you believe they are made from a plastic cup? They are very inexpensive and completely adorable!
For each mini Easter basket you’ll need a plastic drinking cup, tacky glue, jute and a bag of MARS Spring Minis Mix to fill your baskets with.
Begin by cutting the plastic cup in half using scissors.
Then cover the bottom half of the cup with tacky glue.
Begin wrapping the cup with your jute. Go around and around, layering the jute on top of the previous row as you go around.
Continue around the cup and once you reach the top of your glue, add more glue to the top half and continue wrapping the jute.
Wrap until the cup is completely covered. Set aside and let dry.
Next braid together three strands of jute to create a handle. Use glue or tape to affix the handle to the inside of the basket.
Then fill each basket with the MARS Spring Minis Mix.
Once your M&M’s® cookie bars are done set them on a trivet to cool.
Once cooled slice into squares. Store in an airtight container. Print the recipe below!
