How To Make Rainbow Sugar Cookies
These rainbow sugar cookies use a basic (and delicious) sugar cookie recipe as the base and you can use any flavor/color Jello to flavor them and color them! If you want deeper, more vibrant colors you can use more Jello or add food coloring. We liked the subtle colors of our Jello cookies so we left the food coloring out.
Rainbow Jello Cookies Ingredients:
You’ll need the following ingredients to make rainbow Jello cookies. This recipe makes about 3 dozen cookies.
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened (not melted!)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Lime, Wild Berry, and Grape Jell-o
Jello Cookies Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350F and prepare a cookie sheet with a baking mat or parchment paper.
- Beat butter with a paddle attachment until creamy. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla and beat until combined. Gradually add in flour and baking powder until blended.
- Divide dough into 6 sections. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of Jell-o onto each section. Knead together with dough. If you don’t like the color you achieve with the Jello, then add food coloring until you like the color.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll the dough balls in the remaining jello from the packets. Place on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat and flatten with the bottom of a cup.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheets, then transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
You can use any flavors of Jello to flavor your cookies so get creative and try different flavors! Use neon food coloring for more crazy color combinations too!
