20 Minute Sausage and Pepper Cajun Alfredo Recipe!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Klement’s Sausage Company. All opinions are 100% mine.
School is back in session and that means a return to a more structured, scheduled week. Weeknight meals can feel hectic, but instead of reaching for yet another frozen pizza, try this easy 20 minute sausage and pepper cajun alfredo recipe instead! The flavors are amazing and it’s so simple to make. Your family will feel like you fed them a restaurant meal and you won’t be tied to the stove for more than 20 minutes to make it. Win-Win!
This sausage and pepper cajun alfredo recipe has just the right amount of heat and isn’t too spicy to serve to the kids! If you want an extra kick of spice then you can add a little cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to bump up the heat. This is a family friendly meal idea that you can customize to your family’s preferences!
To make this sausage and pepper cajun alfredo recipe you’ll need:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 (14 oz) package Klement Sausage Company Italian Sausage, sliced in 1/4″ slices
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz cavatappi pasta, cooked and drained
There is nothing like sitting down to a home cooked meal, after a busy day spent apart from one another, to discuss your day and reconnect with your family. I specifically use the Klement’s Sausage Company Italian Sausage in this cajun alfredo recipe because they believe in old world flavor and the tradition of passing down recipes and enjoying a meal together as a family. Klement’s Cooked and Smoked Sausage are created from old world European recipes that have been passed down for generations using only the finest ingredients and comes in a variety of flavors.
The Klement’s Sausage story began 60 years ago when three brothers- John, George and Ron Klement purchased a small sausage company in South Milwaukee. Word about the genuine, old country flavor spread quickly and before long, Klement’s was a favorite. They’ve grown a lot since that small 6-person operation, but haven’t lost sight of what made their family business a success. Hard work, dedication, and perfectly seasoned sausage.
Slice the Klement Italian Sausage into 1/4” slices before adding it to the pan.
Begin by heating the olive oil over medium heat and adding the onions and green peppers to a saute pan. Cook for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
Next, add the sliced Italian sausage to the pan and turn the heat up to medium-high. Continue to cook until sausages begin to brown, about 5 minutes. By now your kitchen should smell amazing! The Italian sausages combined with the peppers and onions creates a tantalizing aroma!
Next, add 2 cups of heavy cream to the pan along with the black pepper and cajun seasoning. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until the mixture begins to thicken.
Once mixture has thickened, remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese.
Add your cooked pasta to the pan and stir together to mix well.
Serve immediately, preferably with some warm, crusty Italian bread! YUM!
This cajun alfredo recipe was immediately approved in my house and is definitely one that will be passed down for years to come. It’s quick and easy making it an ideal weeknight meal to bring the family together.
