Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rolls In Bread Machine Recipe With Cinnamon Honey Spread
These copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls are one of our very favorite bread recipes and we make them often! If you’ve never been to the restaurant to try these rolls, then make some at home and discover what you’ve been missing out on! We live an hour away from the restaurant so being able to make them at home means we get to enjoy them whenever we want! This recipe is for Texas Roadhouse rolls in a bread machine which means hardly any time or effort on your part with sweet results to show for it!
Texas Roadhouse Rolls
I have to be honest with you, just looking at these photos has my mouth watering all over again. Lucky for me I’m making these delicious, warm, melt in your mouth rolls again tonight along with a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup! Talk about amazing comfort food! I promise you these sweet rolls are as good as they look. Add some Buzz + Bloom Cinnamon Spreadable Honey to the top and you’ve got an irresistible combination!
Texas Roadhouse Rolls Recipe
To make these copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls in a bread machine you’ll need some simple ingredients.
- 1/4 cup warm water (temp between 80-90 degrees F)
- 1 cup milk (temp between 80-90 degrees F)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 1/2 cups unbleached bread flour
- 1 envelope dry, active yeast
Place the ingredients in your bread machine in the order listed, or if your particular bread machine tells you a different order then follow that. (I use this bread machine) It is important to use a thermometer (I use this one) to check the temperature of your water and milk and ensure they are between 80-90 degrees F. If you do not then your liquids may be too hot and kill your yeast which will cause your bread to not rise properly.
Then select the dough cycle and let your bread machine do all the work of mixing, kneading and letting it rise. I find I have a lot better success with making bread dough in the bread machine as my kitchen is simply too cold in the fall and winter and my dough inevitably doesn’t rise correctly. The bread machine takes care of that problem! If you’ve had problems with bread properly rising in the past then that may be the solution for you too!
Once the dough cycle has completed, remove the dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2″ thick rectangle. Fold the dough in half and allow it to rest for 15 minutes. Then cut into 18 squares. I used a pizza cutter like this to cut mine. Then bake at 350 degrees F for 10-15 minutes until tops are golden brown. When they come out of the oven you can swipe the tops with butter to give them a shine.
I love topping my Texas Roadhouse rolls with Buzz + Bloom Cinnamon Spreadable Honey. It is SOOOOO amazing on top of these sweet rolls! Spread on a nice layer of it while the rolls are still warm and let it melt and ooze over the edges of the rolls. It’s a flavor explosion in your mouth. The Cinnamon Spreadable Honey combined with the warm, fluffy bread is a flavor-packed combination. I promise you won’t have leftovers!
You can get Buzz + Bloom Cinnamon spreadable honey from Amazon. Alternatively, you can serve the Texas Roadhouse rolls with cinnamon butter.
Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter
I love the cinnamon honey on these Texas Roadhouse rolls but this Texas Roadhouse cinnamon butter recipe is also amazing and is like what they serve in the restaurant. To make the cinnamon butter you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup sweet, creamy salted butter (softened)
- 1/3 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Put butter in a small bowl and beat with a hand mixer until fluffy. Add a little confectioners sugar at a time and blend in. Add cinnamon and mix well. Place in a container in the fridge when you aren’t using the cinnamon butter. Put out to soften for serving.

Hi Sarah, I just printed your recipe off and I’m so looking forward to making these rolls! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe! Blessings, janet
You are most welcome Janet. I hope you’ll stop back by and let me know how you liked them.
This makes me so hungry I love the rolls from Texas Road house. We haven’t been there in a long time. I may need a bread maker I only know how to do bread by hand. Not sure how the recipe would change.
It should still work with no problem doing it by hand. I use the bread machine as it takes out a lot of the work and my kitchen gets so cold, that nothing rises correctly.
These look great! Thanks for sharing with the Delicious Dishes Recipe party!
These look super good! Texas Roadhouse has the best rolls ever! 🙂
These rolls look so delicious and I want to make these for the Holiday season. The Cinnamon Honey Spread is amazing and I want to try it!
I love texas roadhouse rolls, and their cinnamon butter is the best! Unfortunately I don’t have a bread machine.
You can make it without the bread machine. Just make sure your liquid is the correct temperature, mix well, and let it rise in a warm spot until it at least doubles in size.
These rolls look so delicious! I’d love to try and make them myself, too!
Since I have moved I have not been able to find a Texas Roadhouse near me, and I love their rolls. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
Love this recipe! My family can’t get enough of them! Can the dough be frozen? I’ve got two different Easter dinners to go to this year and they both want me to bring these rolls so I’m going to have to make 4 or 5 batches.
Candace, I have not froze them before but I see no reason why it would not work. If you do freeze them I’d let them thaw at room temp until they rise again and then bake as normal.
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I don’t remember how texas roadhouse rolls taste but this is really good bread roll. I used landolake honey butter on top.
You’re welcome! I’m so pleased that you enjoyed them. Thanks for the feedback!
Wow! I made your recipe! Thank you so so much for posting it! It is amazing! Some of the best rolls I ever had! Unfortunately I don’t have the spread but the are so awesome with butter alone. Never buying rolls from the store again! Please keep the recipes coming!
Oh thank you for the kind feedback! That means so much to me! I’m glad you enjoyed them 🙂
Made these rolls today and they turned out perfect! I won’t be buying rolls from the store again! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed them 🙂
Can I use bread machine yeast from the jar? I don’t have an envelope of yeast.
It worked just fine and the rolls are DELICIOUS!!!!
That’s great to hear!!
I haven’t tried it with that type of yeast but let us know if you do!
How much yeast did you use from jar? That’s all I have too
I just referenced the jar for the amount that is equal to a packet. It should say on it!
I found the right measurements, dough is awesome so light and fluffy,I have them in oven now! Great recipe
Fantastic! I’m so glad to hear that 🙂
I used 2 1/4 tsp and it worked great!
Can I freeze the dough for later??
I haven’t tried freezing this dough but I would think it would work. Let us know if you try it!
First batch was awesome. Freezes really well also. Won’t be buying store rolls anymore. These are so easy. Making second batch now. IDK about the advertisement, I mean the cinnamon honey spread . Great roll recipe. Doesn’t need anything but great with just butter.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the rolls! Thanks for the feedback. I always love hearing what people think of my recipes.
OMG…I am making my 2nd batch now. The first one I used for kolaches and they were amazing. Now, I am going to be using this batch for dumplings. I am excited and confident they will be a great compliment to my (already amazing) recipe for chicken and dumplings.
Oh I am so glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!
Bread newbie here.. After I fold the dough in half to let it rest do I unfold it before cutting it? Tia!
Nope! Just cut them then 🙂
Delicious recipe. I made the cinnamon butter recipe that you included as well. It was yummy. This has to be the easiest recipe for rolls I have ever made. The breadmaker does all the work. The dough came out perfect-easy to handle. Wish I had some to freeze, but all were eaten.
Thank you for the recipe.
Oh I am so glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for leaving your feedback 🙂
These were awesome! As good as the real thing, if not better. Unfortunately for me, I ate about 15 straight away. Thank you!
Haha 15! That is a lot! I’m so glad you enjoyed them 🙂
I am going to make these for Easter. Do I let the dough rise again after cutting them in squares?
Nope, then you bake them 🙂
Oh my goodness!! These are so yummy! Do I have to share?!?
I don’t know why it only shows three stars… If I could give ten stars, I would!!
Oh thank you so much! I’m so glad you loved them 🙂
Haha sharing is not a requirement!
Can you bake this as a loaf in your bread machine??
I haven’t tried making this as a loaf. Let us know if you try it!
Their rolls and cinnamon butter are just about the only reason I even go there! Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful and simple sounding recipe with us. Pinned.
Thank you and I totally agree!!
I made these rolls and the the dough never got to the dough form where I could rolls them out. it seems as if there was too much liquid. Help
Ack I wish I knew what went wrong for you. Without knowing more I just can’t say. Darn!
This post brings back memories of a worplace where we had a bread machine. Almost every day someone would make a new recipe for bread in the bread machine, and then we’d all gather in the dining room to take a break and enjoy the warm homemade bread. This does sound like a great recipe I’d like to try!
Oh wow! What a wonderful thing to do together. I love this.
Can you just make a loaf with this recipe? I’ve been looking and trying all these recipes for a loaf and non of them are soft or sweet. I need soft/sweet sandwich bread!
I haven’t made this as a loaf before so I am not sure! Let us know if you try it 🙂
Did you fold the dough horizontal or vertical? Did it end up a long rectangle after folding?
Can I make dough today, let it rise, but cut rolls and bake tomorrow?
Can I make dough let it rise but not cut rolls and bake until next day?
I haven’t done this before so I really can’t advise if that will work or not. If you tried it let us know 🙂
This looks amazing! Going to try and make these gluten free in my bread machine 🤞🤞🤞
There are AMAZING! I love making bread in my bread machine and these are next level! I’ve gotten rave reviews every time I make them! Thanks so much!!
What awesome feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to share 🙂 We love rave reviews of our recipes!!
I’m pretty new with my bread machine but I made these once back in november and my family gobbled them up. So fast! Since then my family continues to beg me for them often. Since the first batch I’ve made them for Thanksgiving for my husband’s work party, my families thanksgiving, and at least two other times. I’m going to make them again now! We just love this and haven’t bought any store rolls since I found this recipe! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
Oh you made my night with this feedback! Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so glad they are a family favorite!!
I’ve never been to a Texas Roadhouse but a friend was telling me how amazing their bread is and that i should try to find the recipe and make it. so i started researching and stumbled across this recipe. i made it yesterday and between me and my husband, we’ve eaten nearly the entire batch – IT’S SO GOOD. The bread itself is decent, but it’s the cinnamon butter when applied to the bread that makes it out of this world. i don’t know how this compares to Texas Roadhouse but i do know that this recipe is dangerously good! i added honey to the cinnamon butter, but other than that, i kept everything the same 🙂
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate you taking the time to share your rave review!!
This recipe turned out amazing my family is hooked. Do you know if I add a little more sugar what
that would do, if it would sweeten them a little.
I’m so glad your family loves them! I’m always very cautious with bread recipes because they are fussy. I would add sugar to the cinnamon butter if you’d like to sweeten them more. If you do try to add it to the bread let us know how it turns out!
What an incredible recipe! I definitely like to “wow” people with this one! It’s spot on and so delicious! Must try!
Thank you for the awesome feedback!! I’m so glad you enjoy it 🙂
I don’t have a bread machine. How do I make these by hand or with a stand mixer?
I have only made these using my bread machine but you could certainly try doing the kneading and rising yourself. Let us know if you have any tips after you try it!
I made these tonight and I love love them and my family did as well. I didn’t make the butter I actually bought cinnamon and brown sugar butter from a store nearby (just being lazy) and it was great. I will be making these for Christmas and New Years Eve. Would love to post a pic but I am not seeing where I can do that.
That is AWESOME! I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed them! Come share your pic over on my Facebook page! I’d love to see them!! https://www.facebook.com/musthavemom
These were so easy to make and absolutely delicious. I didn’t have any eggs, but they still turned out great without them. I brushed the top with regular Kerry Gold butter, but next time I make them I’ll definitely use some cinnamon butter. I think this is my new go-to dinner roll recipe!
Thanks for sharing that it worked without eggs! Glad you enjoyed them.
I followed this recipe to a T but for some reason I have found that every time I use my bread maker, the bread turns out very very dense. I am not too sure why, but if the rolls didn’t turn out so dense they would have been amazing!
Hmm it sounds like your bread didn’t rise properly. It should be airy and light!
How can I let the bread machine bake as well?
The rolls cannot be baked in the bread machine as the machine isn’t big enough. They need to be spread out on a pan.
Thank you for this recipe. The texture is amazing!! This is definitely going into my “made and good” binder.
Yay I’m so glad you love them!
Can I use a muffin pan instead of sheet pan
The rolls won’t be the same shape but yes 🙂
Can I use regular bread flour that isn’t bleached in this recipe?
I haven’t tried that but I don’t see why not! Let us know if you try it 🙂
Thank you for making this a bread machine recipe. I love to make doughs in my machine. Knowing my family I doubled the cinnamon butter and added honey as I saw that in other recipes. They are fantastic! My husband took 1 bite and said “You are making these again!!”. I will have to check out your other recipes etc. Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you for the awesome feedback! I’m so glad you enjoyed them and I’m thrilled that your family did as well! 🙂
Love these!! Can I cut recipe in Half???
I have not tried cutting it in half. Let us know if you try it!
Just made these today for our belated Thanksgiving dinner. AMAZING! Truly. Better than the Texas Roadhouse rolls.. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe.
Awe thank you so much for the great feedback!! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!
This was my 1st time making these rolls. They turned out delicious. My question is approx. what size should the rectangle be before I fold it in half? I wasn’t sure what size to cut each roll so I ended up with different sizes. I will definitely be making these again because the bread machine does all the work! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! It should be a 1/2″ thick rectangle and then fold in half. I judge by the thickness and make sure it is a rectangle shape. Then cut evenly into 18 squares so usually 3 by 6 works out well. Hope that helps!
These look great! I’m just confused because you said that you prefer them with honey but that if you don’t have honey you can do them the Texas roadhouse way with cinnamon butter … But TR rolls are with honey!!
Our Texas Roadhouse serves the rolls with a whipped cinnamon honey butter. I like them with that or with honey. Both are good!!
I have made this recipe dozens of times since I found it. They always turn out great. I get asked to make them for family gatherings, potlucks and dinners. My son just texted me to ask if we could have some tonight, and the bread machine is working.
Thank you for a clear, easy to follow recipe which has become a favorite.
This made my night! I’m so glad you enjoy the recipe and thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for others!!
Can you just make a big loaf of it in the bread machine instead of rolls?
I haven’t tried that. Let us know how it works if you do!
I tried making a loaf in my bread machine last night and it collapsed. 🙁
Can you make those ahead of time and please in freezer? How would you do that?
I haven’t tried this but you could make the dough and freeze in balls. Then you’d need to pull them out and allow to rise before baking.
I love these rolls at Texas Roadhouse so I thought, why not give it a try? I appreciate the instructions on how to make the dough in my bread maker. It worked like a charm and tasted wonderful! I followed the recipe exactly. I can’t figure out how to leave a photo but they looked as good as they tasted!
I’m so glad they worked so well for you! YUM
QUESTION Why do we only bring liquids to 80-90 degrees when the yeast you use says it should be 100-110 degrees?
I have made this multiple times now and it is wonderful
These are the absolute BEST recipe I’ve used to date! Foolproof, especially for a beginner bread baker. My family BEGS for these on a regular basis. It’s so easy and inexpensive. Taste exactly like the restaurant rolls everybody loves. Absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing the recipe! ♥️
I just made these tonight as a trial run for Thanksgiving. These are just awesome! Thanks so much for this recipe!
If I don’t have a packet of yeast but a jar how much do I use?
These were absolutely delicious! The only thing I did differently was I shaped them, then let them rest and rise for half hour before I baked them. But they were phenomenal. I probably would cook them for a minute or two less only because my oven temp tends to run higher. And I think I like them a little lighter colored. Perfect texture and they rose beautifully.
I made these, today. They are better than Texas Roadhouse. These will be my go- to rolls from now on. Thank you for the recipe!
Can I amend my all purpose flour to make it work for this recipe?
