Nut Free Monster Cookies Recipe
My four year old son Aiden has a life threatening peanut allergy and also cannot have any tree nuts so we have a completely nut free home. That means that all of the recipes you find on my site are able to be made completely nut free. Here is a favorite, monster cookies, that usually uses peanut butter but we make them nut free and you can too! Even if your child doesn’t have a nut allergy you may have a nut free school so this recipe is perfect for enjoying your favorite treats while keeping them nut free. These taste amazing! Soft and chewy but crunchy edges. Yum!

As always check all of your food labels in your ingredients to ensure they are nut free and are made in a nut free facility. Manufacturing processes can change and it’s important to check labels every time.

Peanut Free Monster Cookies Recipe
The traditional recipe for these calls for M&M’s but in order to make them nut free you cannot use M&M’s as they are made in a facility that also processes peanuts. Instead I use Canadian Smarties (shown in picture) or you can use Vermont Nut Free Skippers. Both are candy coated chocolate similar to M&M’s but are nut free.

These sound great! I wonder if you could use Sunbutter instead of Wowbutter. Our daycare is nutfree and we use Sunbutter because of it.

You certainly could. They would taste different with Sunbutter but would work out fine!

I have never heard of soy butter, that’s great. We have started using soy milk and changing our eating habits. These sound awesome, gotta make some for Easter. Thanks for sharing.

Oh these look really good! I love that it is with the oatmeal instead of the flour! I gave celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. If I could use the gluten free oats….these would work wonderful! Oh so excited to try them! I really miss good cookies!

I love them. I am sorry he has this allergy. I have been seeing different controversies over this on tv. It must be a little scary. Thanks for sharing the nice recipe. I didn’t realize that nuts can be involved in products that aren’t nuts?

Yes, many products are made on the same equipment as nut products which makes them cross contaminated. Even a small trace of peanuts in a food can cause someone with a peanut allergy to go into anaphylaxis and stop breathing. It’s pretty scary.

Love this recipe! Gives me an alternative to serve when I have people over who have nut allergies. These would be great with a big glass of milk. YUMMY!

These are great even if you don’t have a nut allergy! You can sub peanut butter for the soy butter if you don’t want them to be peanut free too.

You could use any type of nut butter if you don’t want them peanut free, or sunflower butter, etc.

Hi, one of my daughters is nut free, and I’m soy-free. Do you have a recommendation for how to make these without soy? Would it just be additional regular butter? Thanks!

The wowbutter is soy butter so you’d need to use an alternate like sunbutter which will alter the taste but should work!
