Instant Pot Pork Chops
My Instant Pot BBQ Pork Chops and Instant Pot BBQ Pulled Pork were a HUGE hit and for good reason. Cooking pork chops in the Instant Pot delivers juicy, tender pork that is never dry! These Instant Pot ranch pork chops were so juicy and flavorful that they have become a regular in our recipe rotation. I LOVE that I can throw all of this into my Instant Pot and have a complete meal on the table without the need to make additional side dishes.
Begin by setting your Instant Pot to “saute” and adding 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Let the oil heat up and while waiting, dust each side of your 4 bone-in pork chops with salt, pepper and ranch seasoning. (Grab the homemade ranch seasoning recipe). Using tongs, put one or two pork chops in at a time and brown them on each side. Then remove them and do remaining pork chops. Set aside on a plate once you finish them all.
Now add 1/2 cup chicken broth to the pot and deglaze the pot by using a wooden spoon to scrape all the browned bits off the bottom of the pot. Be sure you get them all up off the bottom of the pot so they don’t scorch during cooking.
Then add remaining 1 1/2 cups chicken broth, onions, mushrooms, carrots, garlic, rice (be sure you rinsed it!), thyme and stir together. Place the browned pork chops on top of this mixture and place the lid on the Instant Pot. Lock the lid and be sure your valve is set to sealing. Set the Instant Pot to “Manual” 10 minutes.
Let the pressure release naturally for at least 10 minutes and then release the valve and open the lid. Letting the pressure release manually will result in dry pork chops. If you let it all naturally release you will get the most juicy results! Serve your Instant Pot ranch pork chops immediately.
My kids LOVED these Instant Pot pork chops and so did my hubby and I. The rice was cooked perfectly, as were the carrots and mushrooms! There was no scorching or issues with it cooking. Just be sure you rinse your rice adequately before cooking it so you wash away some of the starch from it. Let me know if these Instant Pot pork chops were a huge hit at YOUR house!

Scrumptious! Thanks for linkin’ up with What’s Cookin’ Wednesday!
This pork chop recipe looks so delicious. I love pork chops but don’t always know what o make with them.
I love your easy Instant Pot Ranch Pork Chops with Rice recipe. I am all about cooking meals fast and healthy. Thanks for this awesome easy recipe!
Can I use regular long grained white rice in this recipe? Thank you!
Yes, just follow the same directions.
This was awesome. I substituted brown rice for the jasmine rice because we are trying to eat more whole grains and it worked out fine. The pork chops were so tender they fell apart.
I’ll be saving this recipe – thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! We also love brown rice and it’s great to hear it worked fine as well.
Can you use boneless pork chops?
I would also like to know if you can use boneless chops.
Yes, you can. I haven’t done them so I can’t recommend the proper cook time change but I would think it would be less time.
I don’t think 10 minutes is long enough. My rice was crunchy, and the pork chops were not done enough
Sorry to hear this didn’t work out for you! Did you allow the pressure to naturally release first before doing a manual release? My rice was soft and my pork chops were done. Perhaps the pork chops are a different thickness?
Just made this and made it exactly as the recipe stated. Got the BURN display. What a disaster. Released it and the rice was mushy and the pork chops were dry. Was really looking forward to this because I made it for a friend. And, yes, I thoroughly rinsed the rice in cold water and, yes, I thoroughly scraped up the bits with a wooden spoon.
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you. That has never happened to me when making it. Without being there I really don’t know what went wrong for you.
Can I substitute cream of mushroom soup and milk instead of broth
I haven’t tried that and I would think the cream may curdle at the temperature used so I wouldn’t suggest it.
Yummy! Followed directions and it came out perfect. This will definitely go in my paprika app!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the 5 star rating 🙂
Wow!! A new favorite, thank you! Let me just say, I think those who said the recipe didn’t work for them was, to not fault of their own, but they may have lacked the proper tools to cook this meal, and here’s why. My pressure cooker was getting old and not working right and I noticed not all my recipes were very good, and I also noticed this when I had am old stove that didn’t work properly. Now that I have a brand new pressure cooker, and followed the instructions exactly, this recipe turned out perfect!
Also my husband accidentally bought the Red Hot ranch packets but we love spicy so it turned out even better than we’d hoped for!
This is fantastic! Thank you so much for that helpful tip for those that didn’t have good results. I’m so glad you loved this recipe. It’s always fun to find new favorite recipes!! I’ll have to try the spicy ranch! I love spice too.
