Easy 3 step DIY Paper Bowls Kids Craft Idea! Just use coffee filters, watercolor paints and Faultless Spray Starch! Fun decorative bowl.

These easy 3 step DIY paper bowls are so easy and so cool! Kids as young as two can make these (with a little adult help) and then you can display them as art! They are fun and artistic and the perfect kids craft idea for a rainy day.

Easy 3 step DIY Paper Bowls Kids Craft Idea! Just use coffee filters, watercolor paints and Faultless Spray Starch! Fun decorative bowl.

All you need for this kids craft project is a water color set, Faultless Premium Starch and coffee filters. It’s easy, inexpensive and you probably already have these things on hand.

If you aren’t familiar with Faultless Premium Starch it can be purchased in the laundry aisle of major retailers. Unlike other starch, the Faultless Premium bottle won’t clog, flake or stick. Of course it is made to keep your clothes looking new and keep you looking your best so I always have it on hand right next to my ironing board! Think starch is just for your Grandma? Think again!

Next spread your coffee filter flat on a paper towel or two. On one of my bowls I cut the edges of the coffee filter so they were more irregular and the other I didn’t. I preferred the finished look of the coffee filter that I cut the edges on. Just cut them a little along the edge so it isn’t so perfect looking. Now paint it with the water colors.

Place a cup upside down on a paper towel.

Drape your painted coffee filter over the cup and spray it with Faultless Premium Starch. Give it a good coating and allow it to fully dry before removing it from the cup.

Your finished product will look like this! Display it for everyone to see. It’s a work of art!

You could use them to put small trinkets in. I wouldn’t use them for anything with any moisture.

Oh my goodness, how cute! I love that they can create their own designs to really make it “theirs.” My kids could definitely keep their beads and jewelry making accessories in these. Who knew that starch could be used for crafts! Thanks for the giveaway, too!

My kids love any excuse to use a paintbrush. Painting on coffee filters looks like fun. It is a neat idea to use the starch to make colorful bowls.

Am dropping by from the Sugar Bee Crafts link party. What a great and easy craft idea! I love it. Am putting this on my list of things to make with the grandkids. We’ll probably do this at our family reunion at the end of the month.

I have a link party that I am trying to grow. I invite you to share this idea (and a couple of others) at my Grandma Ideas Sharing Time link up at http://grandmaideas.com. I think my readers would LOVE this idea, too.

My linkup is open Wednesday through Friday at midnight Mountain Daylight Time. I know the time is short but I hope to see you there! (If you don’t make it today, please do come next week!)

    All the best,
    Nina

How cute are these!?! I love this idea and will be having some fun with my niece making these. I’ll be happy to use spray starch for something other than ironing my husband’s work shirts!

    Hi,
I did this with my grandson and they’re so cute. But is there any way to make them sturdier? I drenched them in spray starch but they didn’t harden a whole lot.
    Thanks,
    Debra

We just used the starch spray on ours but I would imagine you could maybe use a thin layer of clear elmers glue or spray on glue to make it a little harder. Let us know if you try it!
