Want to play a fun prank on your kids this April Fools Day? This April fools pranks for kids idea is fun and delicious! Make these spaghetti and meatball cupcakes for dinner and serve them up. Your kids will be shocked (and delighted!) to find it’s actually dessert! Who says you can’t have dessert first?
April Fools Pranks for Kids
Want to play a fun prank on the kids this year? Last year we wrapped up grapes in chocolate foil wrappers and told the kids they got candy for breakfast. Fooled them! They thought it was hilarious. This year we have another fun prank planned. We’ll be serving up “spaghetti and meatballs” for dinner only they’ll be tricked because it’s actually dessert made to look like dinner! I’ll show you how you can easily pull off this same prank on your kids!
Start out by making the cupcakes. Preheat oven to 350 and line cupcake pan with the liners. In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix, butter, milk, and vanilla bean paste and mix until combined. Using a medium ice cream scoop, scoop the batter into the cupcake liners and fill about 3/4 of the way full. Bake in the oven for about 21 minutes. Pull out and place on the side to cool. Scroll to the end to print off the recipe!
Once your cupcakes have cooled then you can do the fun part, decorating! In a stand mixer, combine the butter, powder sugar, vanilla, and the heavy whipping cream. Mix on medium speed until stiff and creamy. If you still see powdery pebbles, add in 2 more tbsp heavy whipping cream. Continue to mix until stiff and creamy.
Scoop frosting into the piping bag fitting with the number 3 tip. Using your tip with the frosting, pipe squiggles all over the top of the cupcake.
Scoop the strawberry jam into the squeeze bottle and pour some over the top of the “Spaghetti”.
Unwrap the rocher out of the gold foil and place on top of the jam.

I love how you say that this will go perfectly with Lady and the Tramp! 🙂
These are the cutest cupcakes. My grandsons would love these.
Cool, your cakes look very beautiful and delicious, just like the cakes from Smoothie King reviews . By the way, I often order different goodies from them for home, because they make them to order and they are incredibly delicious. You can also take something from them and try to cook it at home with your own hands. So to speak, repeat the recipe.
