This Toddler Tuesday we’ll be talking all about Easter! Yes I know today is Wednesday 🙂 This post comes a day late because my little toddlers are both sick so they have been needing lots of mama’s TLC the past two days. But better late than never!
This week we made fun Easter bunny hats. All you need to do is cut out the shape of a bunny head. Let you child color it. Staple two strips of paper together after measuring them to fit your child’s head and then glue the bunny face on. Danika loves hopping around the house with it on!
We also made fun Easter cookies. Danika loved pushing the cookie cutters down into the dough.
You can get cheap Easter cookie cutters just about anywhere.
One helpful thing to do when letting your toddler decorate the cookies with sprinkles is to put them on a cookie sheet. The raised edges will catch all the runaway sprinkles so they aren’t rolling off onto your floor. This makes cleanup much easier!
Here are the beautiful cookies that we made!
In planning Easter morning for my kids it occurred to me that I don’t want to fill their eggs with all candy. It gets to be way too much sugar and leads to tummy aches. Here are some great alternative egg fillers to candy that are perfect for toddlers:
- Fun cereals-lucky charms, cocoa puffs, froot loops
- Teddy Grahams
- Mini cookies-oreos, chips ahoy, animal crackers
- Fruit Snacks
- Raisins, Yogurt covered raisins
- Dried Fruit
- Mini Oyster crackers
- Mini pretzels
So there you have it! 10 great alternative Easter egg fillers to candy. What do you fill your toddlers Easter eggs with?
