Our family loves to snack. I grew up as more of a snacker than a big meal eater. I liked to graze throughout the day instead of eating three big meals a day. My kids have inherited that tendency from me. I’m always looking for new snack pairings to keep my family happy and eliminate the boredom of the same old snacks everyday.

Team Kellogg’s loves to come up with new snack pairings too and they inspired us to do the same! Here are some of Kellogg’s great ideas:

  • Combine peanut butter and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies for a new twist on a classic treat.
  • Pair greek yogurt with Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes for a crunchy topping on your yogurt that will add a new texture to your snack!
  • Use Kellogg’s Rice Krispies to top a Cherry-Apple Crisp Dessert!
  • Mix up Popcorn and Kellogg’s Corn Pops for a great sweet and salty mix.
  • Liven up your banana bread by adding Kellogg’s Raisin Bran to it!

Kellogg's Snack Pairings Activity
We took the inspiration from Team Kellogg’s and decided to create some snack pairings of our own! The kids were so excited to make up their very own snack recipes! They couldn’t wait to get started. I provided them with a variety of snacks to create their snack pairings with including: Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Kellogg’s Corn Pops, Kellogg’s Raisin Bran, dried fruit, marshmallows, puff corn and fruit leather. They immediately dove in and started creating their own custom snacks. Once they finished their concoctions they couldn’t wait to eat them. This was a really fun way to spice up snack time. Since they had made the snacks themselves they were really proud and excited to eat them!

Kellogg's Yogurt and Raisin Bran Parfait Pairing
We then worked together to make Kellogg’s Raisin Bran and Yogurt Parfaits! The kids loved layering the yogurt and Raisin Bran and then topping it with dried bananas. Of course they loved eating it too! These are a delicious spin on the usual, boring yogurt cup. The Raisin Bran added a great crunch to the parfait and the raisins and dried bananas added good flavor. These were really quick and easy to make and the kids thought it was a blast!

Has your snack routine gotten boring? Spice it up by mixing ingredients that you wouldn’t normally think of pairing together. We were surprised to find the delicious pairings we were able to come up with by combining snacks from our pantry. It changes up the usual snack options and makes them new and exciting again.
