Last weekend I hosted a fun Mickey Mouse themed party for my kids and their friends. I wanted to pull off a fun Mickey Mouse themed party with EASY Mickey Mouse party ideas that anyone can do. You don’t have to be a Pinterest junkie to pull this party off! These ideas are fun, easy and totally Mickey themed!
We were having an afternoon party with kids and their parents so we went with snack options and desserts. I found this polka dot table cloth at Walmart and the kids toys were things we already had. The wood Mickey Mouse train is by Melissa & Doug. I grabbed free Mickey Mouse party printable food signs and printed them on cardstock. We had our “Mouseketools” ie- forks and our food!
For the plates I simply bought dinner size red plates and black dessert plates and laid them out like a Mickey Mouse shape! For our Donald’s Cheese and Quackers I bought the Sargento Mickey Mouse shaped cheese (yes, it’s already cut in the shape of Mickey when you buy it!) and added crackers to the black plates.
We also had Hot Diggity Dogs which were simply mini hot dogs wrapped in crescents! I then made sure to squirt the horseradish and ketchup out in the shape of Mickey! Nice touch right?
We started off our party by eating the food and then moving on to the first activity. I set up a place for each child to decorate their own Mickey Mouse cupcake! I had a finished cupcake for them to see and then each place setting included a cupcake, frosting, oreo crumbs and two mini oreos with toothpicks in them. They were then able to frost their cupcakes, dip them in the oreo crumbs and top them with the mini oreo “ears”. The kids LOVED this activity and it was a great way to get some of their excited energy out!
Then we moved into the living room for our next activity. We used our Apple TV to project the iPad on the TV. Each child took turns playing the new Mickey’s Magical Math World app. The kids LOVED it! The parents did too because their kids were learning great math skills while playing a fun game.
The kids got to explore, recognize and identify shapes with Mickey, play with numbers and patterns within Minnie’s Robot Playground, ponder early number concepts with Donald, explore counting to 10 and early problem solving with Daisy and experiment with shapes, patterns and sorting skills with Goofy.
Of course it is all presented in a game-type of format so the kids thought it was mega-cool! The kids liked it so much that we are all anxiously awaiting the release of Mickey’s Magical Arts World on February 12th! The parents also thought it was really cool that they can log into Disney Imagicademy Parents and get great ideas for their kids. The app gives parents their daily dose of what is possible and answers the question, “What can I do today to help my child grow?’” through daily articles and Imagicademy-inspired activities designed to help spark creativity and encourage imaginative learning. Disney Imagicademy Parents also serves as a portal into children’s Mickey’s Magical Math World and Mickey’s Magical Arts World, where parents can see their child’s latest creations, provide encouragement with a virtual “high five” and share their accomplishments with family and friends.
Next we moved on to our coloring and puzzle activity table. Each child got to color their own puzzle or put together a puzzle and then take them both home! They also got doodle pads to color on. The kids loved this activity too!
As you can see a lot of fun was had at our Mickey Mouse party! Both the kids and the parents had a great time! You can head over to Disney Imagicademy to grab the fun app we played and check out the Disney Imagicademy Parents app to get fun ideas to do with your child every day!
