Homemade Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza Recipe

I made this bacon cheeseburger pizza last week and my family went nuts over it. I posted the pic on my personal Facebook page and have been asked for the recipe several times so here it is!

I used a store bought can pizza crust. You can use store bought or homemade. The key is to prebake your crust. I used our Pizazz to cook it.
Cook and crumble your bacon. I bought this funny as seen on TV Bacon Wave at Wal Mart to make mine in the microwave. It works great and keeps the bacon up out of the grease when it’s cooking so it crumbles nicely and isn’t super greasy.
Brown your beef and onions in a pan.
Once you finish your topping mixture then add to the top of the crust. I used 1 lb of beef to make a really hearty pizza but you can 1/2 that if you don’t want quite as heavy of a pizza.
Top with cheese and bacon.
Cook until top is done and crust is crisp. Our Pizazz did an awesome job on this!

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

Homemade or store bought pizza crust. I used a Pillsbury pizza crust in a can.

1/2 – 1 pound ground beef to your preference
1/2 onion, chopped
6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
1 cup tomato sauce seasoned with pizza seasoning (may also use pizza sauce)
1 Tbsp fresh minced garlic
1 tsp seasoning salt (you don’t need much as this is a salty pizza if you add too much!)
ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1-2 Cups grated mozzarella cheese
1-2 Cups grated Colby jack cheese

Follow directions on pizza crust and prebake until cooked and no longer doughy. Don’t overbake as you don’t want it to burn.

While your crust is prebaking brown beef and onions in a skillet on the stove over medium heat. Once well done drain fat and return to pan. Add ground black pepper, seasoning salt and Parmesan cheese. Mix well. Add tomato sauce and pizza seasoning (or pizza sauce). Reduce heat to low and simmer to thicken approx 5 minutes.

Top crust with ground beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and then mozzarella cheese to your liking. Top with crumbled bacon. Bake 400 degrees 10-20 minutes (depending on how hearty you’ve made your pizza) until cheese is melted and pizza is browned.

Serve with ranch dressing for dipping! Yum!
