Family Movie Nights Make Special Memories! 2 Family Movie Picks For This Weekend!

Since most of our Winter we spend the majority of time indoors, family movie nights become a big deal around here. The kids look forward to them just as much as my husband and I do. Family movie nights for us mean spending quality time with our kids while we snuggle and munch on popcorn and treats. It’s a time that we all can enjoy together and we have created many lasting memories doing so.

Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is out on DVD now and is one of our favorite family movies. The kids had fun dressing up as Mowgli and playing with the Mowgli and Baloo toys that came with the movie. You can read more about Jungle Book in my previous post HERE.

Mogli

If your kids are a little older then they will love the Horrid Henry DVD out now. Horrid Henry The Movie is based on Francesca Simon’s popular children’s book series of the same name and is available at Walmart. For a limited time each movie comes with an exclusive Horrid Henry slime pack!

Aiden couldn’t wait to get his hands on this cool looking slime! I have to admit it was neat. Slimy and gooey but not too messy that I wouldn’t want him to play with it.

He had fun making hand prints in it and squeezing the slime through his fingers.

Horrid Henry The Movie is a great family film and one that the whole family can enjoy. Whether your child has read the series or not they will be intrigued by Henry! Here is the lowdown on what the movie is about:

Plot synopsis: When Henry fails yet again to hand in his
homework for the umpteenth time, he inadvertently sets
off an unexpected and curious chain of events. He forms
an unlikely alliance with Moody Margaret, the infuriating
girl next door, outwits corrupt School Inspectors, topples
an evil Headmaster, wins a talent contest, and stands up
to his ultimate nemesis. With each antic crazier than the
last, Henry finds himself inexplicably trying to save the very
school which he has always professed to hate.

This movie is geared towards children older than mine but I have to say that as a Mom I enjoyed the movie. It was chock full of humor and really kept my interest. I love that it teaches lessons in following your dreams and how important the bonds of friendship are in life. This movie definitely gets 2 thumbs up from me!

For every family movie night we make it extra special by popping popcorn, eating treats and snuggling with the kids. Aiden loves to watch the popcorn magically pop up out of the popcorn maker and fly out!

It really is these little moments of awe that make every family movie night extra special. We know that we are creating memories that will last a lifetime. For us it is all about the simple moments in life and seizing them to create a special moment as a family. Our kids grow up way too fast and I want to cherish these memories forever.
