Carson is a wiggle worm when it comes to getting his diaper changed. After 16 months of getting his diaper changed multiple times a day you would think he would be used to it but he still screams and cries and twists and turns every single time we change his diaper. He hates getting his diaper changed and it just boggles my mind that he can manage to throw a fit every time we change him! It gets frustrating and is difficult to pin him down with one arm while changing him with the other, all while trying to keep him on the changing table so he doesn’t flip off of it. We’ve even resorted to just changing him on the floor but that’s hard on my back to do that every time he needs a diaper change.
Then one day into my email inbox I received an email telling me all about this handy dandy changing helper called the Hulabye Happy Changer. It sounded promising. Sounded like it may help. I decided it was worth a try! This beauty showed up at my door this month and I’m loving it. Notice he is not screaming or crying or twisting his way off the changing table?! I’m amazed.
The Hulabye Happy Changer is a breeze to use and much to my surprise Carson doesn’t mind it. He has even started putting his arms out himself so that I can slip it on him. It attaches with a big strip of velcro on the underside of your changing table pad. On the top is a little jacket-like piece that you put on your baby, kind of like a jacket. My husband calls it the straight jacket for Carson. Hey, whatever works!
And it does work! It keeps him laying flat on his back and no longer do I have to tie one hand up with pinning him down to change his diaper. I am now free to use both hands and easily change his diaper without the fight. It’s super soft minky and looks adorable with his blue minky changing cover. It’s machine washable so no worries about how to clean it. They’ve made it easy for you. It also comes in a variety of fabrics and colors.
