My kids love the show Dinosaur Train. It airs on PBS and is one of a few channels that we get. They also love playing with trains so when this Dinosaur Train Arctic Adventure Motorized Train Set showed up on our doorstep they were ripping open the package right away. They couldn’t wait to add some new dinosaurs to their train set and have a motorized train (their first!). They had the Lights and Sounds Train from Dinosaur Train but that one didn’t move like this one does. They sat forever watching the train go around and around the track! They also added in the yellow car from their other Dinosaur Train set along with a couple of dinosaurs they already had.
All aboard for Arctic adventures! This motorized train set teaches kids that dinosaurs had just as much fun playing out in the snow as they do frolicking in the forest. This set comes with three collectible figures, two Arctic cardboard destination tunnels, an all-new snow covered Pteranodon Station, and over eight feet of track!
We loved loading up the train and watching it go around. Then the kids would stop the train at the Pteranodon Station and have all the dinosaurs buy their tickets. Then of course the Conductor went around collecting tickets from each passenger. This went on forever! They loved it. I like that the train is easy to start and stop as all it requires is a push on the smoke stack.
Included in the Arctic Adventure Motorized Train Set is:
-Pteranodon Station
-Motorized Train, with a spot for the conductor and two passengers. Train with 3 Cars total-engine, car and caboose
-3 dinosaurs – Mr. Conductor, Tiny and Travis Troodon
-Over 8 ft of interlocking “ice” track
The track snapped together nicely and didn’t break apart too easily. The train runs off of 2 AAA batteries. It also came with some cardboard Arctic scene tunnel cutouts but my kids weren’t interested in them. They were pretty flimsy and difficult to keep standing so I was glad that my kids were happy without them. Overall this is a really fun train set. We loved that the train is motorized and the kids loved loading it up with all the dinosaur characters. This has been one hot toy in our house!
