Smart Bottoms Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway!

I am a huge fan of cloth diapers. There are so many different types out there and many people are afraid to try them. I’m here to say give them a try! You might surprise yourself. Smart Bottoms diapers is a company that does diaper parties in your home so you can look at and feel the diapers before you buy them. This is also a great way to convert your friends to using cloth

We received their Smart Cover and two different types of inserts to try out.

The Smart Cover consists of PUL (waterproof) material and a mesh like inner for quick drying. We also received the Too Smart Insert which is PUL backed to keep your cover dry longer and has a top layer of organic cotton and hemp fleece. The second insert we received is an organic cotton/hemp fleece prefold called the Smart Fold Diaper. Both types of inserts were very soft but I did notice they piled a bit after prewashing them.

My favorite insert was the Smart Insert for ease of use. I liked that it was backed with PUL so the cover stayed dry longer. It definitely doesn’t absorb as much as the prefold but it is also less bulky. The snaps on the Smart Cover took a little reconfiguring to get right but I like that they have a type of wing snap to decrease any gaps near the waist/leg area. The way that the snaps can snap over one another means you can get the right fit every time.

The prefold was easy to fold and place in the diaper. It was a bit more bulky than the other insert which was to be expected but did a great job at absorbing a lot of liquid. The covers are $18 and the inserts are $7-$10 depending on what type you get. The great thing is you can host a diaper party and earn free products! Much like a Tupperware or Pampered Chef party might work the diaper party operates the same way. Host a party, invite your friends and have fun shopping for diapers. You will earn a percentage of the sales in free products!

Why we love it: The Smart Cover and inserts are easy to use even for the novice cloth diaperer. Hosting a diaper party is a great way to earn FREE diapers!

Suggestions for improvement: I’d love to see less piling on the inserts after washing however that is the nature of the material.
