Toddler Tuesday! $4 Craft Idea

I’m happy to announce the return of Toddler Tuesdays! I hope to bring you fun toddler moments, craft ideas and more :) Welcome to Toddler Tuesday! This is where you can link up all of your toddler related activities, ideas, memories and more. We want to see what you are doing with your toddlers and get some great ideas! You can grab the Toddler Tuesday button on my sidebar!

We have been going to Early Childhood Family Learning School every week. It is basically an hour and a half of “school” for the kids where they do fun art projects, have circle time and play in the gym. I have noticed that Danika really loves the painting projects so I decided to take the plunge and allow her to paint at home. I got a cheap smock of Amazon. I think this Crayola smock was around $3 and it is very handy to have.
We went to JoAnn Fabrics and bought this cheap $1 wood bird house and .99 paints. They had a variety of wooden projects to choose from for just $1! I let Danika pick out her favorite colors and it was so cute to see how excited she was!
To keep the mess under control I used the Melissa & Doug paint cups from her easel set. They work great because they have no spill tops and the paint brush handles match the lids so they can easily see which cup the brush belongs in and they don’t end up mixing the colors then.

She did a great job and needless to say she had a blast! We will definitely be doing this craft again. When she was done with the birdhouse she wanted to paint more so I let her paint at her easel. I think next time I’ll buy a few wood pieces for her to paint. If we are going to get messy it may as well be worth the while!
Now it’s your turn to link up! Share your Toddler Tuesday posts with us! Feel free to leave comments if you don’t have a blog and have an idea to share!
